Klaus Kolb learned quickly that although Hitler was defeated, the Soviets who occupied his village in eastern Germany post-war would shatter his family by imprisoning his father.
At age 12, Klaus became the man of the house. His grandmother, mother and two sisters survive thanks to CARE packages and Klaus’ hard work in mechanical school. Klaus discovers his musical talents as he comes of age, but his partying has consequences.
When his father is released from prison, the men must make a hard decision that could leave the women defenseless or, finally, secure.
